It really happens a lot to me when I’m procrastinating on a certain task that I don’t want to deal with. I always end up doing other things just to avoid this stuff.
There are times when I wake up I immediately browsing my social media and reading news. Little did I know that it’s been 2 hours has been past and I didn’t get anything done.
The negative aspect of checking your phone in the morning after I wake up is that I’ve got carried away with the peoples’ agenda and things that they are talking about. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. It just that it consumes a lot of mental energy which could be put into something productive.
I know I’m not the only one battling with this negative habits.
One way that I try to fight this, I disable all of the app notifications in my phone, install application blockers that block the application to a period of time
I added some routine in my morning Like few 15 minutes of meditation, 30 minutes morning pages ( handwritten journal ), and like 15 minutes exercise. This really helps me to substitute the morning browsing of social media to things that I’m excited about.
Yeah, since it just new, I always check my phone immediately but since I’ve to installed application blocker that blocks the certain app on certain time. This really helps me to get some productive stuff and set up my self up for a good day.
I do it as well in my laptop since most of the things that I need to do are there. I’m using the Self Control App ( for Mac ). This blocks the certain links that you specify a certain period of time. All though, I could still type the link, it will get blocked.
This really helps me to focus on the things that really matter. Our willpower is just limited resources. So why not use some software to be able to unnecessary battle with yourself.
Just any idea that I wanted to blog about that has to do with technicalities
